State-owned REC Ltd has approved a market borrowing plan of Rs 1.6 lakh crore for the financial year 2026–27 at its board meeting held on March 25.

The fundraising includes up to Rs 1.4 lakh crore through instruments such as tax-free bonds, domestic debentures, rupee term loans, and external commercial borrowings.

Additionally, the company plans to raise up to Rs 10,000 crore each through short-term loans and commercial papers to meet its funding requirements
