CarTrade Tech Ltd., one of India’s leading digital automotive marketplaces, has launched CarTrade Used Auto, a new platform aimed at streamlining the entire used-car transaction journey, including buying, selling, exchanging and financing vehicles.
The platform combines the strengths of CarTrade’s automotive marketplace CarWale and OLX India to create a unified, technology-driven and asset-light ecosystem for India’s rapidly growing used-car market.
CarTrade Used Auto is designed to serve all segments of the used-car ecosystem, including business-to-consumer (B2C), consumer-to-business (C2B), consumer-to-consumer (C2C) transactions and vehicle financing. The company has also introduced SuperDost, a suite of AI-powered agents that assist users with functions such as vehicle matchmaking, pricing and condition assessment.
India’s used-car market is witnessing strong growth, with annual transactions already exceeding 5.9 million units. The market is expected to expand to nearly 9.5–10 million transactions by 2030. With the average used-car transaction valued at around Rs 5–6 lakh, the sector currently represents a gross merchandise value (GMV) opportunity of over Rs 3 lakh crore, which could grow to Rs 5–6 lakh crore by the end of the decade.
Across its platforms, CarTrade Tech reaches nearly 65 million monthly automotive users and engages with around 3 million used-car sellers and 20 million buyers every year. Through CarTrade Used Auto, the company aims to facilitate approximately 2 million used-car transactions annually, representing a potential transaction value of around Rs 1.2 lakh crore per year.
The company is also expanding into used-car financing through CarTrade Used Auto Finance, a digital marketplace that will provide customers with multiple loan options through partnerships with leading banks and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). The financing platform will operate on an asset-light model while simplifying access to vehicle loans.
Commenting on the launch, Aneesha Bhandary said the used-car market remains fragmented across discovery, pricing, financing, documentation and ownership transfer. She noted that CarTrade Used Auto aims to bring all these services onto a single platform, leveraging the combined strengths of CarWale and OLX India to create a seamless and technology-driven transaction experience for consumers, dealers, enterprises and lenders.
