In May 2025, Aadhaar number holders carried out over 211 crore authentication transactions, pushing the cumulative total to more than 15,223 crore since the system’s inception. This marks an increase from both the previous month and May 2024, when 201.76 crore transactions were recorded.
The steady rise in authentication volumes underscores Aadhaar’s vital role in enabling seamless access to welfare schemes and voluntary services offered by various providers. It continues to serve as a key enabler of ease of living for millions across the country.
The data also reflects the expanding reach and effectiveness of Aadhaar in powering India’s growing digital economy. UIDAI’s AI/ML-powered face authentication solutions saw continued momentum, with 15.49 crore face authentications recorded in May—highlighting their increasing adoption and the convenience they offer to Aadhaar holders.
More than 100 entities—including government departments, financial institutions, oil marketing companies, and telecom service providers—are now leveraging face authentication to deliver services and benefits more efficiently.
Additionally, over 37 crore e-KYC transactions were conducted during the month. Aadhaar’s e-KYC service remains instrumental in enhancing customer experiences and streamlining business operations, particularly in the banking and financial services sectors.
