China's exports grew by 4.8% year-on-year in May, falling short of expectations, as shipments to the United States dropped by nearly 10%, according to customs data released on Monday.
Imports declined by 3.4% compared to the same period last year, resulting in a trade surplus of USD 103.2 billion.
In May, China exported goods worth USD 28.8 billion to the US, while imports from the US fell by 7.4% to USD 10.8 billion, the data showed.
