A two-minute Public Service Awareness (PSA) film on the People’s Plan Campaign – Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas will be screened across cinema halls nationwide starting today, October 24, and will continue till November 6, 2025.
The campaign, aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of Janbhagidari (people’s participation) and the saturation of government schemes, seeks to enhance public awareness and encourage active citizen involvement in the preparation of Panchayat Development Plans (PDPs) for the financial year 2026–27.
The short film emphasizes that every citizen plays a crucial role in shaping local development agendas and will be screened before movie shows and during the last five minutes of the interval, as per the Guidelines for Exhibition of Public Service Awareness Films. The film will not be shown in states where the Model Code of Conduct is currently in effect.
Launched on October 2, 2025, the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) 2025–26 is being implemented across all States and Union Territories. It enables evidence-based and inclusive planning by Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), aligning local needs with national priorities through special Gram Sabha meetings.
Since its inception in 2018, the People’s Plan Campaign – Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas has evolved into a flagship initiative for strengthening grassroots democracy, institutionalizing participatory governance, and reinforcing self-reliance in rural India.
According to data on the eGramSwaraj Portal, more than 18.13 lakh Panchayat Development Plans—including Gram Panchayat (GPDPs), Block Panchayat (BPDPs), and District Panchayat (DPDPs)—have been uploaded since 2019–20, with 2.52 lakh plans already submitted for the ongoing 2025–26 cycle.
Through this nationwide cinema screening, the Ministry aims to inspire citizens to engage more deeply with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and take an active role in advancing local governance and rural development.
