The Ministry of Ayush, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), will host a two-day National Seminar on “Hepatobiliary Wellness through Ayurveda: Bridging Traditional Wisdom with Contemporary Science” from October 25–26, 2025, in Bhubaneswar.
Organised through the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and its Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), the seminar—under the theme “Yakrut Suraksha, Jiveeta Raksha” (Protect the Liver, Preserve Life)—aims to integrate Ayurvedic and modern biomedical approaches for liver and biliary health.
The event will feature over 50 scientific presentations and focus on preventive and therapeutic Ayurvedic practices, evidence-based research, and the integration of traditional medicine with modern hospital protocols. An exclusive session on Ethnomedicine in Hepatobiliary Disorders will also spotlight 20 tribal healers from across Odisha.
Experts including Prof. Ashutosh Biswas (AIIMS Bhubaneswar), Prof. Subrat Kumar Acharya (KIIMS Bhubaneswar), and Dr. Sarada Ota (CARI Bhubaneswar) will lead discussions alongside leading scientists and clinicians.
The Ministry said the seminar underscores its commitment to evidence-based Ayurveda research, with ongoing studies on hepatoprotective formulations such as Picrorhiza kurroa (Kutaki), Ayush-PTK, and Arogyavardhini Vati showing promising results in managing liver disorders like MASLD and hepatitis.
