LTIMindtree has unveiled AI 1000, a strategic workforce transformation program aimed at developing more than 1,000 AI-certified engineers, including a new generation of Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs), to help enterprises accelerate AI adoption and deployment.
The initiative is anchored by a dedicated Center of Excellence (CoE) and is designed to address the growing demand for professionals who can bridge advanced AI capabilities with business outcomes. FDEs combine expertise in large language models (LLMs), domain-specific AI models, and business processes to convert AI concepts into measurable business value.
AI 1000 follows a structured four-stage framework—Identify, Enable, Deploy, and Govern. The program begins by assessing talent through a proprietary AI Readiness Index, followed by specialized training, hackathons, real-world AI projects, and deployment into client-facing AI initiatives. A governance mechanism will continuously track performance and feed insights back into the learning ecosystem.
Venu Lambu said the initiative is focused on enhancing workforce productivity and creating tangible business outcomes by combining technical expertise with domain knowledge.
The company has already established a strong AI talent foundation, having delivered over 6.5 million learning hours, achieved nearly 84% learning penetration, secured more than 15,000 external AI certifications, and trained over 24,000 associates in AI technologies. Through AI 1000, LTIMindtree aims to formalize and scale these efforts with clearly defined career pathways, measurable milestones, and a governed deployment model.
The program underscores the company's commitment to preparing its workforce for the rapidly evolving AI landscape while helping clients derive greater value from their AI investments.
