Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty50 were trading in positive territory on Friday morning, with select heavyweight stocks providing support. Adani Ports, TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, State Bank of India, and Infosys led the gains, with some Sensex constituents rising as much as 2.30%.
On the flip side, Nestle India, Larsen & Toubro, Power Grid, and Bajaj Finance were among the top laggards, registering declines of up to 4.56%.
Interestingly, Indian equity markets showed resilience, moving higher despite ongoing global tariff tensions and underwhelming corporate earnings, defying conventional expectations.
At 9:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80957.35 up by 715.11 points or by 0.89 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24403.65 up by 69.45 points or by 0.29 %.
