Benchmark stock indices Sensex and Nifty closed unchanged after a volatile session on Friday as gains in oil & gas and auto shares were offset by losses in IT and FMCG shares.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 80710.76 down by -7.25 points or by -0.01 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24741 up by 6.7 points or by 0.03 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 81036.56 and intraday low of 80321.19 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24832.35 and intraday low of 24621.6

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3561.55,+2.34%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 14904.50,+1.70%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 285.40,+1.21%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1374.30,+1.11%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1896.10,+0.84%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were ITC Ltd. (Rs. 407.50,-2.01%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1420.75,-1.55%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3048.45,-1.53%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 1479.40,-1.43%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1444.35,-1.29%), among others.
