Indian benchmark indices ended sharply higher on Wednesday, with the Sensex rallying nearly 889 points and the Nifty 50 closing at 24,250, driven by strong buying in heavyweight stocks such as HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), and Infosys.
Market sentiment was further supported by fresh foreign institutional investor (FII) inflows, which helped offset mixed global cues and lifted broader market confidence.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 77654.6 up by 888.68 points or by 1.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24250.2 up by 264.85 points or by 1.1 %.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2118.15,+4.70%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1155.50,+4.50%), Trent Ltd. (Rs. 3004.75,+2.56%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 3930.35,+2.55%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1950.30,+2.52%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1720.45,-3.19%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3223.15,-1.51%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 282.75,-0.89%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 387.65,-0.39%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 343.50,-0.09%), among others.
